Captain Aeva Bahar

A woman with short-cropped white hair and lined dark brown skin, with a patch covering the rough, scarred skin surrounding her left eye. She surveys the scene with a confident air, wearing a ceramic blade sheathed at her side over expensive black silks.

  • Will intersperse her speech with bizarre tales from her time whaling with the Rorinese; these are all true.

Quartermaster Raeza Sadek

A tall, muscular man, with a bushy black hair and beard. He wears a well-kept but slightly worn loose white silk shirt and blue linen pants.

Roleplaying

  • Rather rude and abrasive towards his subordinates.
  • If given the opportunity, will boast about his time in the service of House Adag fighting against the Escan clans in the south.

Key Info

  • Planning to kill Captain Bahar with a bottle of poison hidden in his bunk
  • Does not know that the mission will likely kill and/or curse them all

Cook Savid Gusa

Short, frail, bald. Thick white mustache and eyebrows. Dingy gray tunic and slippers. Smells strongly of annis and garlic.

Roleplaying

  • Often closes his eyes or slowly blinks while listening.
  • Bows frequently
  • Unfailingly polite

Key Info

  • Lem told him the true nature of the mission, but doesn't know who he can trust.
  • Has made a deal with sky pirates to get him off the ship in exchange for letting them kidnap Aeva and Raeza; the pirates plan to ransom House Adag for their return
  • Will be extremely reluctant to discuss his knowledge with anyone, paranoid that his interlocutor may be an Archivist spy.

Sailor Laela

Frizzy black hair, rough air-sailor's linens.

  • Chatty and outgoing; a bit gossipy
  • Often rather bouncy
  • Honest, polite, rather lazy

Sailor Aekander

Floppy hair that gets in his eyes, rough air-sailor's linens.

Roleplaying

  • Shy and withdrawn; avoids eye contact
  • Often needs to clear his bangs out of his eyes

Archivist Ira Varon

Slim gray beard, cloudy eyes. White hat and kaftan of a full Archivist. He bears the red tattoos of the Imperial Archival Service visibly on his hands, arms, and neck.

Roleplaying

  • Constantly smoking a witchweed pipe
  • Speaks proudly of his daughters, who are currently studying for the Archival Service Exams.
  • Privately despises the mission; he plans to sabotage the ship so that it fails, because he believes that weaponizing the miasma is something no one should ever do.

Archivist Sorava Gor

Curling red hair, yellow hat and kaftan of a journeyman Archivist. She has the curling red tattoos of the Archival Service visible on her hands, arms, and neck, but hers are noticably less detailed than Ira Varon's.

Roleplaying

  • Polite and professional, but somewhat brusque
  • Occasionally traces the curling patterns of her tattoos with her fingers

Key Info

  • Believes completely in the mission, and is willing to do virtually anything to see it succeed.

Apprentice Lem Mever

Wavy brown hair, slender, short, glasses. No hat, and the brown kaftan of an apprentice archivist. His tattoos are visibly fresh, and still a little red.

Roleplaying

  • Friendly, and a little lonely
  • Winces sometimes when his tattoos brush against things

Key Info

  • Knows what the real mission is and that he DEFINITELY shouldn't be telling anyone about it, but he's also desperate enough that the PCs might be able to learn from him.
  • Smitten with Sorava, but too embarrassed to admit or pursue it.
